To Our Valued Patients and Friends:
After practicing for more than 50 years, it is with a sense of both excitement and sorrow that I announce my retirement from dentistry. It was a difficult decision to make because I have valued our strong relationships, found enjoyment in a rewarding career, and have appreciated the opportunity to be a part of your lives.
It seems as if I have spent most of my life at 8501 Lincoln Boulevard. My father, Dr. A.W. Sherman, built this office when I was 10 years old and it was at that early age that I was introduced to the field of dentistry and to this office. It has been a second home to me and with the help of my amazing staff it has allowed me to treat so many great people as patients and, I hope, as friends. My relationships with you have been more than just treating teeth. I was privileged to enjoy many conversations with all of you and I feel sincerely humbled and rewarded to have these lasting memories. I appreciate you all for the trust you’ve placed in me through the years. I will miss you and this integral part of my life.
My family and I found it very important to find the right dentist to bring our practice into the future. I am confident that the person we’ve chosen will ensure that your dental care continues in a highly skilled, ethical, and professional manner. Many of you have met Dr. Michael Capio who had previously worked part-time in our office from 2009-2011 and more recently after the Covid shutdown in 2020 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I am excited to say that he will be moving to our office full-time.
I’ve known Dr. Capio since he was a dental student at UCLA and I’ve personally witnessed his growth as a respectable dentist and family man over the past 13 years. Because his office is in high demand, Dr. Capio works with another dentist, Dr. Kimberly Chyu, and hygienists, Lauren and Daisy, who are also very well liked by their patients. His office staff and his patients will join mine to breathe new life and new ideas into our very special dental practice.
During the transition I will be in the office on a limited basis to assist Dr. Capio and his staff and to introduce the new doctors and new staff members to our patients.
