Meet Dr. Capio

Michael Capio, DDS, is a general dentist serving the families of Marina Del Rey and now Westchester, California, and the surrounding areas of West Los Angeles. Born and raised in Edison, New Jersey, he received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Rutgers University. His desire to apply his engineering knowledge to a health profession led Dr. Capio to attend the University of California, Los Angeles School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2009.

In 2013 Dr. Capio acquired a quaint but beautiful 4 chair dental office known as Dental Solutions in Marina del Rey.  In 8 years time, through high quality service, honesty, and lots of luck our dental practice found the need for more space.  Today in 2022 Dr. Capio has moved locations and combined practices with his long-time mentor and friend Dr. Lance A. Sherman.  This new home located at 8501 Lincoln Blvd. was Dr. Sherman’s father’s dental office and has been in the same location for OVER 70 YEARS!  Dr. Capio plans to uphold the same core values that Dr. Sherman taught him and breathe new life into their very special dental office.

In addition to leading his practice Dental Solutions, Dr. Capio taught part time as a clinical instructor at the UCLA School of Dentistry for the past 10 years. It’s here, within the Division of Restorative Dentistry, that he mentored his students to provide the same lasting, brilliant smiles he provides to his patients at Dental Solutions.  Dr. Capio works with the UCLA School of Dentistry’s Continuing Education department and has lectured for several prominent dental study groups regarding the integration of digital technologies in modern dental practice.  Since 2009, Digital dentistry has been Dr. Capio’s passion his entire career.  Staying current with continuing education and lifelong learning is important to him and Dr Capio is currently in year 2 of a 4 year Master Track education program in the Academy of General Dentistry.  Only 2% of general dentists earn this Mastership designation.
